The family-run business, now in its second generation, was started by Peter and Elisabeth Paterson. The story began in their very own kitchen – initially crafting a homemade tablet that was adored locally, before adding tantalising fudge to their repertoire. So, both Peter and Elisabeth got to work on producing some tasty tablet using an old family recipe and Mrs Tilly’s was born – and it wasn’t long before the sweet treat began outselling the crisps!
Soon after, their home-based operation had to expand to something larger, following the incredible demand for the Mrs Tilly’s taste. Fast forward to today and they now operate from a purpose-built factory in Larbert. Both Peter and Elisabeth are still involved, however their sons Blair and Kier now carry the family business baton as Managing Director and Director.
