The Honeypot Children’s Charity works to help young carers in the UK by raising awareness, offering respite and educational support, and so much more to kids who need it. Recognising their wonderful work, World of Sweets is proud to work with the charity and support the cause.
In the UK, there are 800,000 young carers between the ages of five and twelve, many of whom take care of a loved one for more than 30 hours each week. Obviously, this makes for a very different childhood and significantly impacts everything from school grades to social opportunities and the chance to really be a kid and create fun memories. Honeypot works tirelessly to provide young carers with services that enable them to be free from responsibilities at home and to thrive, making joyful childhood memories for 4,700 young carers each year. With four dedicated Honeypot sites across the UK, respite and educational breaks take young carers out of often stressful environments and offer constructive and enjoyable opportunities for growth. Not only that, but they provide grants for essential goods and offer digital outreach after school and weekend clubs, nutritional programmes and memory-making day trips.
As part of its partnership with Honeypot, World of Sweets brought dreams to life with a trio of limited-edition candy cups, and this is something that means a lot to the charity, as Chief Executive Simmi Woodwal explains:
“All of us at Honeypot are immensely proud of the huge impact our partnership with World of Sweets has accomplished in the last few years. Just to put it into perspective, £18,498.32 is enough to fund 38 young carers on a respite break at one of our Honeypot Houses nestled in the countryside. This includes 3 days of food, activities, goodies and more. With sweet mixes that play on the imagination, these were not only designed to excite kids of all ages, but each unit sold came with a donation to the charity – raising a total of £18,498.32. As part of the World of Sweets family, Hancocks was gladly a key distributor of these lines. But this is not the only way that World of Sweets has supported the charity.
World of Sweets is proud of the impact that these collaborative candy cups have had, and the group believes in the work Honeypot does, so they are not the only way they have gotten behind the charity.
“Throughout our partnership with the Honeypot Children’s Charity, we have also supported them by sending stock to each of their respite home locations, for the young carers to enjoy throughout their stay,” said Hannah Rodenby, Brand Manager at Hancocks.
“Over the past couple of years, we have supported the charity’s comedy nights with sweets for guests to enjoy at the event, too.”
All in all, the Honeypot Children’s Charity does fantastic work to support young carers in a multitude of amazing ways, and as part of the World of Sweets group, Hancocks is very proud to have contributed to this cause, and you can find out more about their great work on their website.
